1. Introduction

• HLK-LD2410S is a battery-powered, ultra-low-power human presence millimetre wave sensor of the HLK- LD2410S series, containing the extremely simplified 24GHz millimetre wave sensor hardware LD2410S and the low-power human presence sensing smart algorithm firmware.

• The hardware LD2410S is equipped with an AIoT millimetre wave sensor, a high-performance 24GHz one-transmitter-one-receiver antenna and peripheral circuits; the low-power intelligent human presence sensing algorithm adopts the millimetre-wave sensor distance measurement technology and the ICL1112 chip's advanced proprietary radar signal processing and low-power control technology to achieve the accurate sensing of motion, micro-motion and standing human bodies. The low-power human presence sensing algorithm firmware is mainly applied in indoor scenes, sensing whether there is a moving or micro-moving human body in the area in low-power mode, and refreshing the detection results in real time.

4.Hardware Description

Figure 3-1 shows the front and back photos of the hardware LD2410S. The hardware LD2410S is reserved with 5 pin holes (factory fitted pins) called J2 for power supply and communication; J1 is the SWD interface for burning and debugging MCU programs.

5. Installation and detection range

The recommended mounting method for the HLK-LD2410S is wall mounting. For wall mounting, the orientation of the millimetre wave sensor is shown in Figure 6-1. Where the X-axis direction is 0°, the Z-axis direction is 90°, and the Y-axis is perpendicular to the X-Z plane (also called the normal direction).

The recommended wall mounting height is 1.5~2 m. In this case, the maximum motion sensing range of HLK-LD2410S in the default configuration is a conical space with a normal direction of 8 m and a horizontal and pitch angle of ±60°, as shown in Figure 6-2.

At a wall mounting height of 1.5 m, the detection range of HLK-LD2410S for stationary, slightly moving and moving human body in all directions is shown in Figure 6-3.
